On April 30, 2008 I attended the ITRT training on the VDOE telescope site, Share the Skies. There was not a certificate of attendance given but below are the handouts we got from the training.
Virginia is the only state to undertake such a project. We have built a telescope in Austrailia so that students may learn about technology by seeing the night sky, during the day while they are at school.
Email from Cheri at the DOE Telescope Support on May 1, 2008.
Melanie,
Attached are the telescope account requests that you submitted. I have noted you as the Share the Skies representative for AmherstCounty; in order to ensure that new telescope users receive adequate training, additional account requests must come through you.
At this time, we are developing an Internet telescope Acceptable Use Policy which will outline the procedures for requesting new accounts, scheduling time on the telescope, and use of images taken with the telescope camera. We will send these out to our primary contacts as soon as possible.
Good luck with your training next week! Let me know if I can help.
